How so? We support the human rights of the producers we source from, communities where we work and the customers who sustain us. We also take responsibility for our footprint and support the regeneration of priority ecosystems we source from.
Our Origins
The name “Guayakí" symbolizes the spirited wilderness of the rainforest where we source yerba mate and comes from our alliance with Indigenous community partners in South America who grow our yerba mate.
Our Products
Yerba mate comes from the naturally caffeinated leaves of a native species of holly tree, Ilex paraguariensis, found deep in the South Atlantic Rainforest.
Guayakí's yerba mate leaves are grown and hand harvested by yerbateros (cultivators) from small farms and Indigenous communities in Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. After the leaves are harvested, dried and ground, they are packaged into our dried yerba mate product offerings or brewed as the foundational ingredient of our ready-to-drink can and bottle offerings.
